I'm not sure what to build next I just added some new skills to a new repo titled "31-quant-trading-skills" the number will probably change based off of when I find new skills/ideas to add. But now I need a new project so far all of my projects have consisted of algo building or skill building, I need something new. I'm not sure what I should build though I want to at least do something useful... Maybe another skill repo no that's too boring and there's so many repos filled with skills. I need something new... I'm watching Malcom in the Middle right now maybe it will give me an idea I'm also in a trade right now as well a 15 RR short on MGC let me rephrase myself I'm recording a 15 RR short so I can make an "edit" of it for Orochi trading again I mean I would have taken it anyways so it doesn't matter. I hate these ads on Disney+ every episode I watch it's the same two ads one for Taco Bell one for a makeup brand its annoying I need an idea to build. I could do something for my school I kind of wish my school was bigger to be honest it also still hasn't even started so I could do something for the school I mean I could make a whole website for them their current website is so god damn ugly it pisses me off its just a template from some random provider I mean I could fully rebuild it within 2 days and it would look 1000X better and cleaner maybe I could even sell it to them for a few hundred bucks I mean my mom does work there she's the one that updates the website whenever there's an announcement or canceled school day so it wouldn't be a horrible idea plus then I wouldn't have to look at that ugly school page again plus it would probably be cheaper for the school then however much they pay to host it right now if they even do I mean I could just put it into a free GitHub page. Pretty simple work as well specially with my new GitHub skills for frontend and backend. Yeah, I'm going to do that i think that the color scheme should be a clean and simple white background with clean accents maybe a light blue color the "mascot" is a tech robot as well so it's pretty aligned. I'm not going to fake information about what's going on so I think I'll just take everything from the current website and make it WAY better way cleaner and have micro features it's really not going to be incredibly special but compared to what it is right now it will impress the staff a lot. I mean they don't even have a custom 404-page that's a need for this. I'm just going to set it up as a GitHub repo that's public and host it for free there for now it doesn't really need any backend but I don't want the site to get dosses by future classmates I also have to think about how the teachers will be able to update the site easily I mean I can obviously give them access to the repo while I still go to school there but in the future I can just tell them to use ai really with templates for each school year and also for when there's snow days or such I'm pretty sure that's what they do right now. I think that since most of them aren't the brightest around websites I'll have to do as much as possible in the present. GitHub will also be useful for version control as well easily be able to change versions back and forth when needed if there's any problems. The current site has lots of information I'm going to need to preserve cleanly. Setting up the repo is simple I just need to download all of the images and information on the site, so it translates over easily, I'm having AI source through every page and get every image and piece of information on here a few sweeps till we get everything as well. Even going through their website pisses me off its so ugly. They had a lot more information then i thought they would, but I mean who would even go through most of these pages who knows. I wonder if there's a way I can make it easy for them to update in the future, I'm planning on simple templates but for big updates like maybe new pages or even new news I'm not sure how easy they would be able to do it I mean they do have free Claude pro accounts for being teachers thought that could help, I can also provide readmes for every possible need for them to easily be able to change or update features. I need to think about how I'm going to actually design the site now, a simple white background with light blue accents occasional different and darker colors, (I wonder what school will be like this year I hope there's some new kids it's going to be so boring) I think I'm also going to make the menu cleanly organized right now there isn't even really a menu it's just everything that you would need on top of each other it needs fixed badly. My AI is still pulling so much information, but I need it if I want it to be perfect hopefully, I will be able to get a little bit of money out of it at least 50 bucks would be nice. Back to planning the build and design I think that it needs to include information efficiently the current site doesn't exactly do that. This build was a tad bit larger than I anticipated, still easy though. I'm still worried about how I can make it so they can easily update the site I mean right now the other problem is they have a donation page where I will either have to do some sort of Cash App or just Stripe. For the design I think I'm going to take the main image from the current site and make it as the main background with a clear title either above or below or what I will do is take multiple images transiting in a look with a title above it actually, ill test multiple types and pick which one is the cleanest. For below that I think I'll have the left side being a small news tab with the recent news story and the school's goal on the right. I'm going to build the first few main pages now and see how it looks. Only pages in already 500x times better WAY cleaner can't wait till everything works it's going to flow perfectly. (I wish I had some weed right now.) First 9 pages done there clean and I only need to fix a few things just the logo stretched and that's really it; I'm going to add a custom 404 page and another 5 to 10 pages and see where we're at. Okay I need to fix a few things, but it looks great the 404 page needs a lot of work though. Ok all of the pages are done pretty much a few problems will need fixed like some buttons don't work all of the way that's going to get fixed now. Need to make sure all of the links work as well. I need to decide if the design actually looks good or if I'm comparing it to only our current website, so it seems good I'm going to check out my old school's website and it'll help me decide. Theres isn't horrible I've gotten a few things I can take from it that's cool, but their fonts and quick links are pretty shit NGL, I mean I would have been able to make it way better in less than 10 mins. I checked out another school's that isn't bad but, I think they use some sort of template or hire the same people to make these sites the quick links looks the exact same both ugly, I like how they have a background with pictures sorting through of what's going on there with a filter and a text over I also like how they have a large section where it's a drone video of their campus we don't have a video like that to use sadly but I think it's kind of plain it's just a video nothing else on that section. I've pretty much finished it now just going make sure there's no wrong information or bugs. I admit I overestimated this was way easier than I thought it would be now I need to finish the audit and build the templates for snow days and that type of stuff. First, I need to fix the staff pictures there miss sized.
